Key Responsibilities:
- Site Preparation: Setting up the construction site, including cleaning up debris, preparing the earth (digging trenches, etc.), and ensuring a safe environment.
- Material Handling: Moving, organizing, and preparing construction materials like lumber, concrete, and steel.
- Assembly and Erection: Building and dismantling structures such as scaffolding, temporary bracing, and other forms.
- Operating Machinery: Using hand and power tools, as well as heavy equipment like bulldozers and cranes, to complete tasks.
- Assisting Tradespeople: Working alongside skilled trades like carpenters, electricians, and plumbers, providing support as needed.
- Following Instructions: Adhering to blueprints, plans, and instructions from supervisors and project managers.
- Safety Compliance: Maintaining a safe work environment by following safety regulations and using personal protective equipment.
- Demolition: When required, dismantling old structures using tools and sometimes even explosives.
- Concrete Work: Mixing, pouring, and leveling concrete, using various tools.
